In collaboration with Meme Magazine, we began staging local parties at the turn of 2009 as an attempt at bringing life back to the suburbs of South West London. Back to the Future has become the regular name for our nights. With musical influences ranging from Sly and the Family Stone, Blondie, Stevie Wonder, Joe Smooth and D-Train, they deliver an eclectic party vibe every time.
Our first event. Starting small, we were staggered at just how positive the reaction was, both to the idea, and thankfully the finished product. We're now actively looking for other venues to grow the theme into.
Following on from 'In the Beat Midwinter', our early summer event took its inspiration from the glory days of disco; The Paridise Garage, The Loft, and Studio 54. Only in Richmond. With an eye on the musical through-line between Sylvester and Joey Negro, via Donna Summer, Vince Clarke, Louie Vega and the Freemasons, we set out to prove (and succeeded) that spectacularly big nights aren't the sole province of 19-year-olds.
